The one that made Kestrel Famous!! The Kestrel 1000 Wind Meter was developed in 1995 when NK's Richard Kellerman, reguired a very reliable wind meter when taking to the air in his glider. 10 years later, it looks a little different, but it still gives you the reliable, accurate wind measurements that you want and need.
Ech Kestrel Meter has a large, 1” impeller mounted on a sapphire jewel bearing, which rotates with the slightest puff of air – 0.3 mph to be exact! The unique impeller is easily replaceable by the user if damaged or worn.
If you require regular calibration, simply replace the old impeller with a new one and the Kestrel Wind Meter is restored to like-new factory calibration standards. The Kestrel 1000 can easily be switched between mph, km/h, ft/min, m/s, knots and Beaufort.
